A DODI MISS HIT !!!

A
DODI
BOMB GOES
OUT
THE
PARK

Received this from Davy Revie

He managed to capture George blast his drive out the park at Cawder and unfortunately he caused a wee bit of damage.

We believe he is a bit embarrassed about the shot as it was very low and didn't have a good flight.

HACKERS BEER

A new beer brought out for the Desperadoes and available at your local.

Just what the Desperadoes need on the first tee in a cold, wet, windy and snowy day.

GIE'S A GAME GUYS

GERALDO AND IRON BRU GET A DOG LICENCE

Last Wednesday The Fuel Doctor got a call out just as he was setting off for his mid week slap around Cawder.

He called Sinky and went off to rescue the diddy who had put the wrong fuel into their car.

Once he had carried out the repair he then raced up to Cawder and caught the 3 ball out on the 6th tee.

"Lets get a wee game going" said the Big Guy

Geraldo and Davy "Iron Bru" against Sinky and Bilbo.

The wee game resulted in a dog licence for The Doc and his partner as Sinky and Billy pumped them good and proper.

On top of that Geraldos bag fell into the bunker on the 10th.

Some days it just no fun at all !!

FIRST MEDAL OF SEASON

No  40 POINTERS NOW THE FULL COURSE IS ON !!!!

First medal of the season and all the great scores since January seem to have disappeared. The last few months we had the sweep being won with 40 points most days but now wth the full course on and no gimmes it's a different story.

It's early in the season and I am told the weather was poor on Sunday.

GOOD START TO THE SEASON

CAWDER TRI AM WINNERS

Last weekend Billy McCartney , Jim Cullen and Billy's 2 ball partner Stuart Downie won the Tri Am.

This is the first competition of the season and the boys shot 59. It is the best net score at each hole and their total of 59 was enough to win with a better back 9.

So a good start to the season for the boy.

Well done.

SUNDAY
10TH

THE
DESPERADOES

THE FIRST OFF THE COURSE IN FACT THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES OUT

Ian Fox, Jim Cullen, Davie Drew, and Alex Smart at the end of their round on the Keir Course. Photo taken by the 5th member of the Desperadoes Gerry Cullen.

There was 6 setting off on the first tee but Billy Gibson had to leave the course after 9 holes due to frost bite and snow blindness as the storms closed in.

The other 5 battled on through the blizzards and ice to complete a very very cold round of golf.

After cancelling our Hackers Winter Tour event last night these amigos quickly arranged to meet up this morning.

Most of the usual team who are sane looked out the window and then jumped back into bed.

Gold stars for the 5 who slipped their way round.

SCOTT RACKS UP SOME BIG POINTS !!!

SUNDAY SWEEP

MR WYLIE  SWEEPS UP THE MONEY.

Winner today was Scott with a very solid 43 points beating the Winter Tour leader Ian Fox by 1 point.

Good scoring from Davie Drew also who is steadily getting back to shooting some good scores after his 2 year break.

Right at the rear was myself with a very poor 26 points and after playing some good golf the last week this was a very poor round. Don't want another round like that next Sunday or I might have a Spoon to take down the road.

Next Sunday is round 8 of The Winter Tour of Fife.

Good turnout today with 13 players turning up for the Mid Week Sweep and what a afternoon we got for golf. Clear blue sky and some real heat in the air.

Winner today was myself with 43 points coming back level par but that was nothing compared to Billy McCartney's back 9. He had a incredible 27 points for 9 holes and still lost thanks to a poor 14 total on the front 9. Certainly a round of 2 half's.

Good to have Paul James junior joining us for a game and it's hard to believe such a polite well mannered boy is actually Vera's son.

Course was very dry underfoot thanks to the great dry spell we have had this month.

Hopefully this weather continues.

Next sweep is Friday at 1.15pm for first game getting off then.

Great views over the course today
A great afternoons weather for golf
Alex doesn't get the ball out and it became a big blob on that hole.

A WEE FRIDAY 4 BALL

FRIDAY 15TH
FEBRUARY

Smarty, Dodi and Geraldo

Brightest day for a while

Bunkers edges being trimmed

Course was very dry underfoot

4 balls on the green but only 1 was there off the tee- mine

Dodi sinks a putt for a half

The 14th and Smarty gets us in front for the first time

Myself and the boys had a good game this afternoon in nice conditions for a change. Sun was out for a while and the course was in excellent condition. It was dry underfoot which was surprising considering the snow we had a few days ago.

A good tight game with Smarty and myself struggling to peg back Geraldo and George. We finally got ahead on the 14th and it took a birdie on the 15th from me to get us 2 up. The next 2 holes were halved and the winnings went to Alex and me.

Looking forward to the Sunday Sweep as the weather is to be good all weekend.

Usual time 9-15-9.30am.

42 POINTS AND LAST

SMARTY STROLLS IN WITH 48 POINTS

Friday 8th February

Keir Course winter greens

4 players

A Smart.   48
B Newall.  45
R Chalmers. 43
B Gibson.  42

Today at Cawder our Friday game had 4 players and there was 3 points galore between us all and Billy ended up in last position with a score of 42 points. I've never played in a 4 ball with such great scoring even tho it was winter greens you have still got to get the ball in the hole.

It was winter greens and we considered jumping over to the Cawder course at the 2nd as they started putting the greens on there but we decided to continue on the Keir. It was dry underfoot and very mild for February.

A reminder to all that the Singles Championship and 2 Ball sheets are up in the clubhouse for this season.

Enter now if you are wanting to play.
